Japanese Drumming

Every Sunday evening my Japanese friends and I go to Takumi (a Japanese drumming group). I joined this group this year and I am so glad I did! We have many performances but I am only Year 1 so I can't do any in front of crowds yet. When I first started I got really nervous but now I only feel excitement when I'm going.
One of the biggest events that we preform in is Japan day. Japan day is were Japanese people from all over Canterbury come together to celebrate our traditions, one of those traditions is Japanese drumming.
This is what the drums look like :

    What inspired you to join?
And is it hard to do the drumming?

  2. Hey Luna
That sounds like a lot of fun!
How many times do you practice?
    How many people do it?
Do you use your hands or sticks to plat it?
The drum is such a pretty instrument.
    Have a good day.

  3. Kia Ora Luna,
I really like your blog post about drumming. It sounds really fun.
This reminded me of when I did something similar.
    Is it hard to drum.
    Kind regards

  4. Kon'nichiwa Luna, This blog post is amazing because of all the descriptive language you used and the cool facts that you added as well. Maybe next time you could add some things that you have learned so far. It would be really cool if you added a link to the day of all the drummers so everyone could see and listen.

    1. Thanks for commenting on my blog Josh! Thank you for all the feed back too. I would have loved to add a link to some of the videos of the drumming but I didn't have any time. If you would like to see Japanese drumming in person you could check out when there will be the next performance.

      Thanks Luna
